Asphalt Paving:

The Asphalt Paving Division has seven crews and four high production hot mix asphalt plants. Our permanent plant is located in Atlantic, Iowa and two portable plants keep the paving crews stocked with quality paving materials for the state, county and city projects in Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas.

Smaller paving projects such as parking lots, small town streets, track and tennis courts are completed by crews working out of Crescent, Atlantic and Des Moines.

Metal Buildings and Roofing:

In the early 1950's, the relatively new paving company began selling and erecting steel Quonset buildings. Today, the Building Division is the premier metal building design-build contractor in Iowa and surrounding states.

Our continuous objective is to design and engineer quality projects on time and within budget.

Henningsen ranks among Metallic's leading builders, a strong indication of the caliber of our construction and management ability. And yet the most persuasive evidence of the quality of our work is the high rate of return customers.

Henningsen uses its own concrete and steel erection crews, enabling high quality and scheduling control. Our CAD and engineering abilities enable the division to design and build projects for thousands of clients while keeping costs down.

1949 - Coke was just five cents, hamburgers were only twenty-five cents and E. C. Henningsen along with his son T. G. Henningsen decided to start a "seal coat" and asphalt paving business in Atlantic, Iowa. Quite an undertaking today or in 1949 at just 49 and 22 years of age.

Today, Henningsen Const., Inc is still in Atlantic, Iowa and has grown to over 200 employees and 350 pieces of equipment. The ideals of honesty and hard work that show up in our company today are directly related to our history.
